This gorgeous oversize wool, cotton, and goat hair Turkish kilim from central Anatolia is two separate pieces sewn together by villagers as their looms were normally 6’ or less and they would transport them as they migrated to cooler climates in the summertime.
One side is brown and white tweed with subtlety of browns. The other side is eggplant and army greens with grays and whites (depending on the colors of cotton they had and decided to weave into it) it’s gorgeous and wabi sabi. There is braiding on the ends with one side of one piece wrapped in cotton.
Original patches, if any, are kept.
It has been professionally cleaned and restored. We have done our best to capture fade and age in photos.
