This gorgeous kilim in Turkey.
It is a Chadur made from tent covers by nomadic tribes in the mountains of Tarsus.
It is made with a mixture of hemp, wool, and goat hair. It’s a deep espresso and reddish brown in various shades and intensities along with lighter wool woven in a tweed-like plaid fashion especially on one side.
It is two pieces sewn together to make a useful area rug. We kept the longer side as it was pieced together as we think it’s charming and pays tribute to the person who wove it.
Actual size is 9.4 x 9.9 with one length being 12” shorter.
Professionally cleaned and restored.
Variations in color are not defects in any way but are inidicative of this type of vintage rug.
