This gorgeous kilim from Black Sea region of Turkey is made with pure organic hemp which is white and overdyed 3 of the pieces in powdery sky blue.
Pure hemp is cool to the touch and underfoot.
This one is 6 pieces sewn together making one large area rug.
There are a few hand sewn patches that we left intact which were done by the villagers. Circa 1970’s. It is initialed in red and blue and green cicim symbols that have meaning to the weaver.

It has been professionally washed and restored.

They often have patches done by the weavers which we leave as it adds to the story of the rug.
