This gorgeous kilim from Black Sea region of Turkey is made with pure hemp “tweeded” with wool in different colors.
This one is off white and beige pure organic hemp with subtle threads of wool in brown. Pretty and clean..
There are jijim symbols in brown and orange in a few places.
This rug is 2 pieces as most of these nomadic pieces are several pieces sewn together due to their looms being a narrow width which made it easier to travel to warmer climates during the winter months.
Pure hemp is cool to the touch and underfoot.

It has been professionally washed and restored. This has a few hand sewn jijim symbols in in brown, also done in hemp. See photos.

Some of them have apricot stains as they were originally grain sacks and were often used to carry the fruit from orchard to home.This look is not for everybody.
