This gorgeous kilim from Turkey is made with pure natural goat hair and wool.
This carpet is called Chadur... tent covers used by nomadic tribes in the mountains of Tarsus.
Natural goat hair comes in various shades and intensities of brown and cream resulting in a gorgeous brown “tweed”.
This is one large piece. It has a hand made patch made of same woven fabric on the side and a few red strands woven in and a red circular symbol made by the weaver. One border end has a braid running along it.
It’s authentic and vintage and will not appeal to everyone but for those appreciating true nomadic handiwork and a storied piece.
