These vintage goat hair, hemp and wool kilim runners and small pieces started out as grain sacks (before the introduction of plastic) Now they have been turned into rugs. We can only find them in summertime as the mountains in the Black Sea region of Turkey is covered in snow in winter. They have unique cicim symbols to help the villagers distinguish between one anothers grain. We professionally wash and restore each piece and sometimes we'll keep the original patches which we find endearing to its storied past. The colors are tobacco brown backgrounds as a rule with different colored stripes and symbols.. Please feel free to ask details about colors etc.
